The price of a sponsored article in 7,757 news outlets in 95 countries, by country, traffic and topic, and what buyers actually paid in 4,328 orders.

What the data says
- A sponsored article in an online news outlet costs a median of €280. The usual range runs from €97 to €1,157. On blogs the median is €247: news outlets are only 13% dearer.
- Spain is the cheapest market. Of the 21 countries with the most news outlets, none has a lower median: €188, against €820 in Germany, €598 in France and €360 in the United States.
- Traffic decides almost everything. In Spain, an outlet with under 1,000 visits a month costs €118 and one with over a million, €4,213: 36 times more.
- What gets bought is cheaper than what is on offer. The median paid for a news outlet in the last 12 months is €181, below the catalogue's €280. And only 10.1% of outlets got an order.
- Dropping the link barely saves money. A brand mention without a link costs a median 10% less than an article with a DoFollow link, and a NoFollow link costs the same.

Outlets that label the article as advertising charge more: a median of €337, against €272 for those that do not.
What it means for your budget
- Compare on traffic, not on the name. The price per 1,000 organic visits runs from €5 to €246 (median €53): two outlets with the same audience can cost very different amounts.
- The middle tier is what gets bought. 35.5% of orders go to outlets with 10,000 to 100,000 visits a month: a real audience at prices below the €1,680 of the next tier in Spain.
- If the link is not the point, ask for a mention. It saves around 10%, and a link in an existing article saves 24%.
How the study was done
The data is the Growwer catalogue as of 2026-10-05: 38,968 active outlets in 147 countries (7,757 news outlets and 31,211 blogs). The price is that of a new article with a DoFollow link, as the buyer sees it on the platform.
We give the median and the usual range, from the 10th to the 90th percentile, which leaves out the extremes. Countries and Spanish topics only show if they have 30 news outlets or more, and sensitive topics (gambling, adult content, cannabis or esoterism) stay out of the topic breakdown. Traffic is each outlet's estimated monthly organic traffic.
Orders are those placed on Growwer in the last 12 months (4,328 for news outlets), and the price paid is the median paid for each outlet. No outlet is identified: only aggregates are published.
