Website Traffic Checker
Enter any domain to see how many visits it gets from Google each month, how many keywords it ranks for and where they rank, market by market. Free, no sign-up.
How to check a website's traffic
There are three ways, and only one gives you the exact number. Which one to use depends on whether the site is yours.
-
With a tool that estimates it
Works for any site, without asking anyone for access. It matches the keywords a site ranks for with their search volume and the click-through rate of each position, and gives you the visits it gets from Google each month. That's what the checker above does.
-
With Analytics or Search Console, if it's your site
This is the only real number. Google Analytics counts visits from every channel and Search Console counts the clicks that come from Google. Only people with access to the account can see them.
-
By asking the owner
If you're about to pay to publish on a site, ask for screenshots of its Analytics or Search Console for the last few months and compare them with the estimate. If they're nowhere close, be careful.
How to use the checker
- Enter the site's domain, without
https://or a path: example.com. - Pick the Google market to look at: your audience's, not the site's.
- Read the monthly visits, the keywords and how they spread across positions, and compare them with other sites.
What it measures and what it doesn't
It's an estimate of organic Google traffic based on rankings, not the site's total visits.
What you see in the result
- Estimated monthly organic visits from Google in the market you pick
- Keywords the site ranks for in that market's top 100
- How many of those keywords sit in the top 3, on page one or further down
- The value of that traffic: what it would cost to buy in Google Ads
What it leaves out
- Direct, social, email and referral traffic
- Visits that come from ads
- Other search engines, such as Bing, and markets you didn't pick
- The exact number of visits: it's an estimate, not the Analytics figure
How to read the rankings
A big keyword count looks impressive, but the traffic comes from the ones at the top. Look at the spread before the total.
-
Top 3
Where the traffic is
The first three positions take most of the clicks. A site with plenty of keywords here gets real visits.
-
Positions 4–10
Page one
Clicks still come in, just far fewer. It's real traffic and the step before the top 3.
-
Positions 11–20
Page two
Hardly anyone goes to page two, so there are almost no clicks. For the site owner, these are the easiest keywords to push up.
-
Positions 21–100
Visibility without visits
They count as ranking keywords but bring no traffic. If most keywords sit here, the site gets less traffic than its keyword count suggests.
Why traffic matters when you choose a site for your links
A site's authority (DR, DA and the like) can be inflated with links. Organic traffic can't: if Google sends a site visitors, it trusts it. That makes traffic the most honest filter before you pay for an article.
A site with real traffic has readers who see your article and click your link. A site with no traffic is usually a site built to sell links, and that link rarely moves anything.
Check the traffic in your audience's market: an outlet with lots of visits in Germany does little for a store that only sells in the US. And check the spread of rankings: a few keywords in the top 10 beat thousands on page five.
If you're looking for places to publish, Growwer shows you every outlet's traffic before you buy links, so you don't have to check them one by one.
What to do after you check the traffic
Traffic is the first filter. These are the next steps, for someone else's site or for yours.
-
See who links to it
The backlink checker shows the domains that link to any site, with their authority, and which of those outlets you can publish on.
Open the backlink checker -
Review your own links
If it's your site and the traffic isn't there, the backlink audit walks you through reading your link profile beyond DR and deciding what to do with each link.
Run the backlink audit -
Buy links on sites with traffic
On Growwer you see every outlet's traffic, authority and country before you pay, and you choose the outlet and the anchor of every link.

Website traffic checker FAQ
What the checker measures, where the data comes from and how to see a site's real traffic.
- Only the site owner sees the real traffic, in Google Analytics (visits from every channel) or Search Console (clicks from Google). Every outside tool, this one included, gives you an estimate. If you need the real number for someone else's site, ask the owner for screenshots.
- Yes. You can run up to 5 checks a day without signing up. Results are saved in your browser for 24 hours, so checking the same site and market again that day doesn't use up a check.
- It gets the order of magnitude right and works well for comparing sites, as long as you compare them with the same tool. It's less accurate for sites that live on searches for their own brand, for very seasonal sites and in niches where the keyword database is thinner.
- Because they measure different things. Analytics adds up every visit (direct, social, email, ads, other search engines and every country), while the checker only estimates visits from Google's organic results in one market. It also uses average click-through rates per position, and every search has its own.
- Yes, it works with any domain. It's one of the most common uses: comparing your organic traffic and rankings with whoever outranks you on Google.
- Because the site doesn't rank in Google's top 100 for any keyword in the market you picked. That happens with new or very small sites, and with sites aimed at another country: switch the market in the selector and try again.
- From DataForSEO Labs, which tracks Google's results in each market and refreshes its data every week. The traffic value is theirs too: it multiplies each keyword's estimated visits by what a click costs in Google Ads.
- There's no magic number, but a site with fewer than a few hundred organic visits a month in your market rarely adds anything. Also check that the traffic comes from your audience's country and that its keywords relate to your topic. We cover it in how to buy quality links.
